Mario Nanni is a visionary artist, designer, inventor, and entrepreneur, widely recognized as a pioneer in lighting design. In 1994, he founded Viabizzuno, a company he successfully led until 2022, growing it into a renowned international brand known for innovative lighting solutions and iconic designs, such as the n55 and n35 light bulbs. His philosophy, deeply rooted in the belief that "designing is the verb to love," guides his multifaceted approach, blending technical ingenuity with practical wisdom. Mario is not confined to lighting design; his creative influence extends into architecture, sculpture, painting, music, graphic arts, photography, poetry, theatre, literature, and philosophy. He has collaborated with esteemed architects like David Chipperfield and Peter Zumthor, and developed projects for prestigious global institutions, including the Kunsthaus Zurich, the Alhambra in Granada, and Casa Batllò in Barcelona.
Mario's identity transcends professional categories; he's equally comfortable as a director, set and costume designer, jewelry designer, and craftsman. His commitment to teaching and mentoring is evident in his role as a maestro, passionately sharing his extensive knowledge through workshops, lectures, and his monumental project, Marionanni Scholè. Celebrated for evocative "poetry of universal light," Mario continues to inspire through his work, embodying a modern Renaissance spirit that emphasizes the interconnectedness of all arts and disciplines.
The floor light is anchored to a sturdy steel base. A knurled end on the rod provides an intuitive mechanism for easy activation and smooth dimming control.
