PURE FORM AND ABSTRACT INNOVATION
Lodovico Acerbis has created an iconic sideboard that perfectly highlights the superiority of the materials and the high-quality finishes that form the very core of Acerbis Design. The surface of the Ludwig sideboard is unadorned with handles or embellishments, instead employing the Dual-Flap® patented system to open the entire front panel with a simple touch while the top simultaneously offers easy access to the anterior areas. The internal space is conceived as a single and easily accessible large compartment organized by two thin chrome-plated metal frames, clear glass shelves, and drawers.
To make the movement of opening an essential element of beauty, to give functional design added aesthetic value so that it becomes a surprise: this is the basis behind the solid, innovative concept of the Acerbis opening system. The patents for the Acerbis systems, such as the Dual Flap® and slide-and-pivot doors, embody an idea that goes beyond tradition to make movement itself an object of design.
Lodovico Acerbis was born in Albino, Bergamo in 1939 and graduated in Economics and Business in Milan. In 1963 he joined his father’s company with the aim of creating design furniture by applying the most advanced technologies and the best materials. Founded in 1870, as a carpentry workshop, the company under his direction reached industrial dimensions and established itself as a leading company in the sector. Lodovico Acerbis combined his work as an industrialist with that of a designer, producing some of the most significant creations of Italian production, often signed together with Giotto Stoppino, with whom he created a fervent creative partnership.
