THE central element
The Fayland dining table was originally developed for Fayland House, a residential project in the English countryside. It is essentially a modern and versatile farmhouse table, characterized by the pure use of material coupled with a clear and elegant design.
David Chipperfield is an acclaimed British architect who is recognized with numerous international awards and honors. Established in 1985, David Chipperfield Architects is a leading global architectural practice with offices in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai. Chosen as the architect for the reconstruction of the Neues Museum in Berlin, which reopened in 2009 to critical acclaim, he is inter alia, a winner of the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal, has received the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2004.
The solid wood table FAYLAND features the pure use of material and a clear, elegant design language. The constructive details of FAYLAND are at the centre of its linear form: a horizontal bar with centered support provides stability while the table ends overlap the frame, providing additional seating space.
Thickness of table top measures 40 mm (1 1/2 INCH). The indented legs allow sitting at the table ends.
